Hi, we're Daiathlon

a group who raise money for charity by doing fun and adventurous stuff. We’re based in Pembrokeshire, but DaiAthletes come from all over the UK and beyond!

In the past 5 years we’ve raised over £70,000 for charity! We’re hoping to hit the £100,000 by 2014. If you would like to donate some money you can do so here.

Our primary charity is The Noahs Ark Appeal – the official charity of the Children’s Hospital for Wales. We help riase money to fund vital projects which ensures that children in Wales get world-class facilities and treatment. Their current campaign is to fund a hydrotherapy pool at a cost of £500,000. Visit www.noahs-ark-appeal.org to find out more.

Here is a video of the main Daiathlon event, the tour of Pembrokeshire! A great event which covers roughly 110 miles of biking, 25 miles of running and a swim and is run over two days.

The Charities

Our primary charity is the Noahs Ark Appeal. The Noah’s Ark Appeal is the official charity of the Children’s Hospital for Wales. They were set up in 2000 to raise money to build the first Children’s Hospital in Wales, at the time they were the only country in Europe without a dedicated children’s hospital. The Noah’s Ark Appeal now fundraises to equip and provide further support for the Children’s Hospital for Wales ensuring that it has state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best treatment possible.

We are now raising £7m for Phase Two of the children’s hospital. Unlike Phase One we will not be paying for the building costs however the £7m we are currently raising will be used to fund a number of key projects which will ensure that the hospital has state of the art equipment to provide the children of Wales with world-class treatment & care.

We also raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) is an umbrella term used for the many different causes of cardiac arrest in young people. CRY provides medical information on the most common causes of unexpected sudden cardiac death sometimes referred to as SADS in the young (under 35)
